About ManageCancer.org
ManageCancer.org is a service provided by Christina’s Garden, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to assist those battling cancer. Our free cancer resource website provides cancer patients and their loved ones with information and links to valuable resources to assist with finances, medication and doctor schedules, communication, support, assistance, education, travel, housing and more. We also provide suggestions on ways that loved ones can help. There are many resources available, however, they are sometimes difficult to find as we have found out through personal experience. We have worked very hard to provide the best resources and will continually add resources as our research progresses. We have also strived to create a site that is easy to follow and navigate, a site that will not overwhelm users.
About Christina’s Garden
My wife and hero, Christina Camardese Savage, passed away at the age of 31 on January 27, 2009 after a courageous ten year battle with cancer. During those ten years, Christina endured 5 brain tumor surgeries, radiation treatments and 4 different types of chemotherapy. Amazingly, during those same ten years, most people had no idea what she was going through. She graduated magna cum laude from Miami University, ran her own business, worked full-time and rarely missed work (except for the two weeks after her surgeries), became a certified personal trainer, exercised religiously, ran our household (with little assistance from me), paid the bills, traveled, laughed, etc. We called her Wonder Woman. Until the last few months of her life, she beat cancer, she really did. Christina was the most amazing person that I have ever met. Her strength, courage, humor and love for life inspired so many, including me. In May of 2009, I left my career as an attorney to begin Christina’s Garden as a tribute to my wife and to help others that are going through what we went through.
Christina
battled cancer for ten years and was treated at some of the top cancer centers in the country. Until the last few months of her life, we were unaware of the hundreds of resources that were available to us, resources that could have really helped us in a variety of ways. That is what inspired us to start Christina’s Garden and to create ManageCancer.org. To learn more about Christina's Garden, visit ChristinasGarden.org.
